Japan Rugby has announced that a League One Festival will be held ahead of the Brave Blossoms’ bumper Test match against the All Blacks on Saturday week.
Over 55,000 tickets have reportedly been snapped up to watch Eddie Jones’s stuttering side against the 2023 Rugby World Cup runners-up.
Japan host New Zealand at the 72,327-capacity Nissan Stadium and ahead of the match, a Festival to promote the country’s top domestic competition, League One, will take place adjacent to the stadium in the central plaza of Shin-Yokohama Park.
The Festival is free to visit and has been created as a promotion tool for the fourth League One which season kicks off on Saturday 21 December.
Teams from all three divisions will be represented with club booths to promote their activities and upcoming fixtures.
Division one sides Kobe Steelers, Mie Honda Heat, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Sagamihara DynaBoars, Shizuoka Blue Revs, Suntory Sungoliath, Toyota Verblitz and Yokohama Canon Eagles will participate.
Japan’s second tier will be represented by Hanazono Kintetsu Liners, Hino Red Dolphins and Shimizu Koto Blue Sharks.
Division three’s three new teams, LeRIRO Fukuoka, Sayama Secom Rugguts and Yakult Levins Toda, will also take part.
