Former Sunwolves head coach Filo Tiatia has been appointed as the interim head coach of struggling Welsh URC side Dragons RFC.
Ex-All Black Tiatia, 53, who played for Toyota Verblitz from 2002-2006, was appointed as the Newport-based team’s defence coach in the summer.
Injury-hit Dragons have lost five of their opening six games of the season and head coach Dai Flanagan has paid the price for their poor start to the new campaign.
The surprising decision to relive Flanagan of his duties has been met by criticism within Welsh media and fans.
Tiatia worked under current Japan coach Eddie Jones as a forwards coach before becoming the Sunwolves boss in 2016.
Tiatia retired at the age of 38 after a stellar career and has since been a sought after coach.
