Australian school boys sent home from Japan rugby tour after disgraceful act

Three boys from an Australian school have been sent home from their rugby tour in Japan after allegedly stealing a disabled man’s wheelchair.

The victim, who is from America but lives in Japan, posted a photo of the visiting trio to social media in hope of identifying the budding rugby players.

The incident took place in Tokyo’s famed night life district of Kabukicho in Shinjuku.

“My friends chased after them and couldn’t find them,” the victim wrote on Reddit after saying that the boys “sprinted away” with his wheelchair.

The year 11 students, who were part on an eight-day rugby and cultural tour in Japan, have since been sent home to Australia.

The victim found the wheelchair in a nearby side street several hours later and has reported their actions to the police and their school.

A spokeswoman for Ipswich Grammar School told News Corp Australia: “Ipswich Grammar School has been informed of an incident that occurred in Japan.

“Following an investigation, the students involved have been removed from the tour.

“We have taken the matter seriously and the school is addressing it as per our policies.”
