Former Rugby World Cup top try scorer Josh Adams would be open to making the move the play in Japan.
The Wales and Cardiff wing, 29, scored seven tries at the 2019 World Cup in Japan as Warren Gatland’s team suffered an agonising 16-19 semi-final loss to eventual winners South Africa.
Swansea-born Adams, who faces a race to be fit for Wales' Autumn Nations Series next month due a knee injury, is yet to play for Cardiff in the URC this season.
Speaking on the Sportin Wales podcast, the former Worcester Warriors wing said: “It’s definitely something I’d consider (an offer to play in Japan).
“When we went in 2019 for the World Cup, I absolutely loved it, and we were there for nine weeks.
“I don’t know about just yet, maybe in a couple of years if there’s an opportunity to do it. “From my experience in 2019 and the places we stayed, New Ohtani hotel was unbelievable,” added the former Scarlets wing who has 59 caps for his country.
Adams would join an ever-increasing list of highly-talented Welsh players to grace Japan’s domestic competition if he decided to make the jump to League One.
Former World Player of the Year and fellow wing Shane Williams played for Mitsubishi Dynaboars from 2012-2015 while number eight Gareth Delve enjoyed a stint with NEC Green Rockets from 2013-15.
Lock Dominic Day spent a year with from Toyota (2016-2017) while fly-half Owen Williams spent one season with the Red Hurricanes (2020-2021).
Former Six Nations winner and 2019 Grand Slam champion Hadleigh Parkes spent two years with Saitama Wild Knights before joining Black Rams Tokyo for two years (2020-2024).
Lock Cory Hill, 32, has been in Japan since 2021 and following two years with top-flight side Yokohama Canon Eagles joined fast-rising Secom Rugguts in 2023.
Ex-Scarlets standout Jake Ball joined NEC Green Rockets in 2021 while former Ospreys centre Tiaan Thomas-Wheeler left his homeland in 2023 to join second division outfit Toyota Shuttles.
Wales stalwart Liam Williams played for former League One champions Kubota Spears last season while former Cardiff fly-half Rhys Patchell has joined ex-Wales head coach Wayne Pivac’s Green Rockets for the 2024-25 season.
Warren Gatland’s out-of-form Welsh team will play Fiji, Australia and South Africa at home at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff in November.
